Danson House Restored To Former Glory

Danson House, one of the finest country houses in the south of England has been restored to its former glory thanks to a £4.5 million rebuilding programme, which included some impressive period gates and railings galvanized by South East Galvanizers Ltd.

South Easts customer, Metalcraft (Tottenham) Ltd manufactured 500 metres of railings, including vehicular and pedestrian gates for the 18th century house, which is at Bexleyheath, Kent and was built in 1766. The Bexley Heritage Trust funded the landscaping and railing project along with other refurbishments inside the house. Danson House was officially re-opened last year by HM the Queen after a restoration programme dating back to 1995. However, the work is still continuing, especially the landscaping phase.

Neil Pearson of South East Galvanizers Ltd said: ¨The number of applications for galvanizing is almost endless, even for helping to restore historic buildings, and its very pleasing for us that this modern-day process has been used to help with the restoration of such a worthwhile project as Danson House.
