Merseyside team stalks stag sculpture

Merseyside Galvanizing Ltd successfully stalked an unusual piece of business after the creator of an 8ft-high steel stag decided to have her unique garden sculpture galvanized for maximum protection against the elements.

The Merseyside Galvanizing Ltd team are more accustomed to galvanizing girders, gates and railings than wild animals, but sculptor Laura Sefton from Preston was determined the magnificent antlered specimen was not going to become endangered by rust. ĻIts quite intricate and I realized there was no way I would be able to paint it, so I just thought of having it galvanized, said Laura, who started her own metal-working business just over a year ago. She has previously sculpted a 14ft dragon statue for a school in Formby, and specializes in garden arches, hanging baskets and ornaments including peacocks and wild boars.

Merseyside Galvanizing Ltds Mark Waters said the stag presented no technical difficulties for the companies team of experts at Blackburne Street: ĻI think this proves were racing ahead of our competitors when it comes to galvanizing unusual designs.
