Twenty-five customers and staff of Humber Galvanizing enjoyed a day in the fast
lane when the Hull-based company staged a karting event at the F1 Racing Pepsi-Max
Raceway near York.
Drivers competed in heats leading to semi-finals and a final for the fastest
drivers. The eventual winner was Myles Thompson, of Thorndell Engineering of Doncaster,
with Norman Morley of
A. M. Warkup Ltd of Lissett, near Bridlington in second place and Paul Thompson,
brother of the winner, in third. Tony Linsley of Humber Galvanizing Ltd said:
¨The day was enjoyed by everyone and
was a good chance for some of our key customers and our own staff to meet outside
work. We are planning to hold another karting day later in the year.
