Acrow Galvanizing has proven its worth time and time again after being called on by steel fabrication firm on series of high profile construction contracts.
The Saffron Walden-based plant has been called upon to galvanize steel for Hubbard Architectural Metalwork on a number of projects, with its most recent partnership seeing the two companies team up to create steel balconies, balustrades and other metalwork used on an apartment block in the Olympic Village in East London.
Norfolk-based Hubbard Architectural Metalwork is a leading manufacturer of staircases, bridges, balconies, and balustrades, and has required Acrow Galvanizing’s specialist hot-dip galvanizing treatment to protect its metal from weathering and other corrosion. Over the past two years alone, the two firms have worked together on a range of major projects such as the Hilton Hotel in Wembley, Saffron Square Apartments and Wandsworth Riverside Apartments. Hubbard Architectural Metalwork has previously worked with a number of Wedge Group’s other sites over the past 15 years.
John Nicholson, Commercial Manager at Acrow Galvanizing said: “The Olympic Village contract was a huge success and is a great addition to our portfolio – not only was it the spotlight of world earlier this year, but it is now providing up to 3,500 essential new homes for local residents in East London.”
Chris Coulthard, Director of Hubbard Architectural Metalwork, explained: “Many of our projects require steel to be protected long-term against rust and corrosion, so galvanizing is a natural solution. Having worked alongside Acrow Galvanizing and the wider Wedge Group for more than 15 years on a number of projects, we know that the service it provides is reliable, sustainable and of the best quality every time, and we look forward to continuing our partnership in the years to come.”
