Edward Howell Galvanizers Ltd has played a long-lasting part in helping Worcestershire County Cricket Club celebrate its 150th anniversary.
The plant worked alongside Dudley-based DJ H Ironcraft to hot dip galvanize an elaborate pair of entrance gates to the Club’s ground on New Road in honour of the milestone, which offer an impressive welcome.
Dave Halford, Owner of DJ H Ironcraft, commented: “The new gates to Worcestershire County Cricket Club are a striking focal point to the ground’s main entrance, with the design incorporating the specially-commissioned new Club crest. The area around the Club is particularly prone to flooding in bad weather which is why we specifically chose to get the gates galvanised, to ensure that they remain protected from the elements for the next 150 years.”
Jim Lindsay, Sales Manager at Edward Howell, said: “This was a very rewarding project to work on and we were delighted to be involved in the Cricket Club’s celebrations and to have the opportunity to provide officials, players and fans with such a lasting legacy. The sheer size of the entrance gates was a challenge in itself, but our team’s expertise as well as our facility’s exceptional capabilities ensured the project was a huge success.”
