Worksop Galvanizing is celebrating after completing a mammoth refurbishment project which is set to not only significantly increase the firm’s productivity but greatly improve its eco-friendly credentials.
The plant, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, has unveiled a brand new galvanizing bath at its facilities in Claylands Avenue as part of a £750,000 refurbishment project.
“Our galvanizing bath, which is the biggest in the UK at 21metres long, was ten years old and needed replacing,” explained Paul Robinson, Sales Manager at Worksop Galvanizing.
“We took the opportunity to design something which had a number of environmentally-friendly features, including a new combustion system and technologically-advanced, fuel-efficient burners,” he added.
As a plant, Worksop Galvanizing is wholly committed to sustainability and has introduced a number of schemes including the recycling of rainwater from the roof to use in the galvanizing process.
“We are delighted with our new system which incorporates some highly sophisticated features which have enabled us to benefit from higher production rates,” concluded Paul. “We are very much looking forward to passing the many benefits onto our customers, and hope to celebrate the completion of the project with an open day event later this month.”
