Pillar Wedge has unveiled a major upgrade to its facilities that will help to deliver continued high-quality service to customers across the construction, agricultural and engineering sectors.
The firm, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, has invested £65,000 on replacing the flux tank and expanding the pre-treatment area at their plant in Heywood. The tank, which measures 10.8m by 1.6m by 3.29m and has a capacity of 55,000 litres, will play an integral part in the company’s ongoing galvanizing work, where steel is dipped into molten zinc at temperatures of up to 450°C to provide a long-lasting protective coating against corrosion and rust.
Mark Waters, Commercial Manager for Pillar Wedge, said: “This new tank will make a big difference to the work we can carry out. It’s more heat-efficient and more effective than the previous tank. Continually investing in modern, state-of-the-art equipment and improving our facilities like this enables us to deliver consistently high-quality galvanizing for our customers in a cost and time-efficient manner.”
