Manchester Galvanizing has teamed up with Security Solutions GB to process over 2.5 tonnes of steelwork used to create new turnstiles at Burnley Football Club.
The turnstiles are for the spectator entrance of the Bob Lord Stand, and were completed in time for the new season. They form part of ongoing developments to enhance facilities at the club and appearance of the stadium as a whole, with previous turnstile works on some of the other spectator entrances also involving the plant.
Adrian Nottingham, National Sales Manager at Security Solutions GB, explained: “Burnley FC’s new turnstiles at the Turf Moor ground look great and we’re thrilled to have been involved in the project. We called upon Manchester Galvanizing – as we have done for the last 10 years – to galvanize the steel, before the look was completed with powder-coating in the official Burnley claret colour.
“Galvanizing is essential as the steel can be vulnerable to corrosion if it’s not properly protected, which can be costly to repair and maintain. Manchester Galvanizing provide an excellent service and never let us down – they also have a large galvanizing bath able to process large steel structures such as the turnstiles, which many others often can’t accommodate.”
Mark Waters, Commercial Manager at Manchester Galvanizing, said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Security Solutions on this project. Galvanizing is the ideal solution for protecting steel and for customers requiring a splash of colour it can be powder-coated or painted with Galvacoat, a special paint for galvanized steel.”
