PILLAR WEDGE CELEBRATES SUCCESS OF SCULPTURE UNVEILING

Pillar Wedge’s ongoing partnership with another Lancashire-based business has been celebrated in style with the unveiling of their latest project, a unique piece of artwork which has created a dramatic feature at the entrance to a client’s home.

The galvanizing experts, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, provided its dedicated service to Burnley-based wrought iron specialists, B Rourke & Co Ltd, following a commission to design and produce a decorative and bespoke sculpture.

The resulting feature, an impressive hand-crafted oak tree which was designed exclusively for the prestigious customer, took three weeks to produce and saw every intricate detail of the structure being handmade, including the tree’s 400 individual leaves, the tiny acorns on the branches, and a single bird within the tree.

Following construction of the main sculpture, B Rourke commissioned Pillar Wedge to undertake the process of galvanizing the metal, which involved it being dipped in molten zinc at a temperature of 450°C.

Richard Twiddy, Director at B Rourke, said: “This was a fantastic project to be involved in and we have already had hugely positive feedback from the client. Not only was the artwork individually designed and produced, but was also handmade and hand-painted with our own uniquely designed paint produced specifically for decorative hot-dip galvanized work.

“We have worked with Pillar Wedge on numerous projects for many years, and they are always our preferred supplier for all galvanizing, which is a vital part of many of our projects,” he added.

The partnership between the two local companies has seen a diverse range of work being undertaken on behalf of private clients, small businesses and large corporations across the UK, and has included the production of structures from public gates and archways to urban art and street furniture .
Mark Waters, Sales Manager at Pillar Wedge, said: “We are delighted to have been involved in this project, which has resulted in the creation of an impressive and distinctive feature for a valued customer. Our partnership work with B Rourke means that a customer is able to not only see their ideas come to life, but that they are provided with protection from the elements for years to come.”
