Metaltreat has provided its services to a long-standing customer for the protection of a pergola which has recently been installed at a retirement home in East Anglia.
Metaltreat Galvanizers has been called upon by Gateshead-based Smiley Fabrications Ltd to provide its hot dip galvanizing treatment to over 8 tonnes of structural steel used in the creation of an eye-catching garden feature which has been installed at the Malt Yard residential home in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
Iain McBeath, Commercial Manager of Metaltreat Galvanizers, explained: “Thanks to the team at Smiley Fabrications for involving us in this project. The look and feel of the finished pergola is great and we’re sure that they’ll be enjoyed by many residents in the summer months to come.”
Commissioned by Pegasus Life Ltd, the pergolas took approximately four weeks for Smiley Fabrications to produce and parts of the galvanized steel frames were later painted black for an aesthetically-pleasing finish.
“We’re thrilled with the end result of this project,” Alan Sprouting, Director of Smiley Fabrications Ltd, said. “We’ve been working with the team at Metaltreat Galvanizers for almost five years now and trust them to provide a standard of finish to our products that does justice to our brand and to our customers’ expectations. We chose them on this particular project as the pergolas are permanently situated outdoors and open to the elements of the British weather, so the steel framework needed to be protected as effectively as possible.”
