Scottish Galvanizers collaborated with Network Rail in the £3.5 million redevelopment of a West Lothian station.
The plant worked alongside Lanarkshire Welding Co. to galvanize 75 tonnes of steel - transforming Livingston South Railway Station, on the Shotts Line, as part of the Network Rail Upgrade Plan.
The project involved the galvanizing of new platforms, parapet and trash screens along with aiding in the maintenance protection of new electric masts and stairs.
Brian Mallon, Network Rail programme manager for the project, explained: “Redeveloping Livingston South station is vital to the successful completion of the electrification project and the introduction of new faster, longer trains.
“It’s a massive investment to upgrade the railway and we thank members of the local community for their patience as the work was carried out.”
