A member of the team at Scottish Galvanizers has raised hundreds of pounds for the Clutha Appeal, following the tragic helicopter incident last November. Derek McKenzie, White-End Changehand at the plant, with help from the team, friends and family and the Scotia Bar, has raised money for the fund set-up to help the people involved and loved ones who have been affected by the devastating helicopter crash.
A regular at the Clutha Vaults for almost 30 years, Derek decided to raise money for the appeal as he knew many of the victims and those affected by the tragedy personally. Derek McKenzie explained: “The Clutha Vaults is one of the most iconic and well-known pubs in Glasgow, and a place very close to my own heart. I was actually there shortly before the crash and knew a number of the victims and those affected which is why I wanted to raise the money for the appeal. I would like to personally thank the Scottish Galvanizers team as well as the McKenzie family and the Scotia Bar for making the fundraising campaign such a success.”
