The team at South East Galvanizers teamed up with a family-run engineering company to treat a number of balconies in central London.
The plant was called upon by its longstanding customer, Bye Engineering, to provide its specialist galvanizing treatment to over 50 balconies and handrails which completed the external works on the Roundhouse’s new administration building in the capital.
James Bye, director at Bye Engineering, explained: “We chose to galvanize during this project as we needed to ensure our work was protected in the long-term against weathering and rust, whilst also offering a unique aesthetical finish which works really well in central London where architecture is key. We’ve worked with the team at South East Galvanizers for over 15 years, and know that they can handle a project of this scale efficiently and professionally, overall handling 50 balconies, handrails and over 30 tonnes of steel.”
Neil Pearson, Commercial Manager at South East Galvanizers, said: “We’re delighted to have been involved in this project with our long-standing customers, Bye Engineering. It’s always a pleasure to galvanize steel not only to protect it from rust and corrosion in the future, but also when the silvery appearance which galvanizing produces can be enjoyed as part of the overall architectural design of a building.”
