Bradford-based Metaltreat Ltd provided its hot-dip galvanizing services for the newly-built Providence Quarter court in Skipton, which took around four months to complete. The plant galvanized approximately ten tonnes of steelwork for the Juliette balconies built by one of its customers, which are a central feature of the development.
Commercial Manager at Metaltreat, Iain McBeath said: “The developer requested the balconies be galvanized for protection and wanted them to be left unpainted as it suited the overall design.
"Galvanizing the balconies will ensure they are properly protected against rust and weathering in the future, with a cost-efficiency that other protective coatings just wouldn’t be able to provide when taking into account repeated maintenance visits."
