Work undertaken by Acrow Galvanizing in partnership with its customer Screwfast Foundations has been showcased on Channel 4’s Grand Designs.
Screwfast, based in St Albans, manufactured a number of steel screw piles which were used to support two timber eco-houses built in Dulwich, South London. Acrow Galvanizing’s specialist galvanizing service was called upon to help protect the steel screw piles used in the construction of the homes, which have been nicknamed ‘Furniture Houses’ and ‘Jewellery Box Houses’ by Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud because of their resemblance to hand-crafted cabinets.
John Nicholson, Commercial Manager at Acrow Galvanizing, said: “We were delighted to work alongside Screwfast on this prestigious project and it was fantastic to see the end results showcased on national TV. We would also like to congratulate Screwfast on their recent expansion into the European solar energy market, and we hope to work with them on future projects.”
