An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Support and Administrative Apprentice to join our busy team at Newport Galvanizers Ltd, based in Gwent, NP19 4QX. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?

This position involves a combination of office duties and a significant focus on sales, requiring close collaboration with the Sales Manager. You will be responsible for developing strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities, as well as nurturing relationships with clients primarily through telephone and email communication.

You will be working towards the Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship standard which typically takes between 12-18 months to complete.

Main duties include:
• Invoice processing
• Chasing quotes
• Contacting customers and keeping them updated
• Updating records
• Tracking and progressing orders
• Matching and ensuring correct charging of goods
• Booking in of goods.
• Credit control
• General ad-hoc office duties such as printing, scanning and answering the phone

Who would suit this role?

You must have good written and verbal communication skills (as much will be via telephone).
Be computer literate.
Able to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
Achieved GCSE Maths and English (minimum of a C or 4).
