Edward Howell Galvanizers Ltd, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd, has offered its support to Sporting Khalsa Football Club for two consecutive years through sponsorship of the U9 team’s new kit.

Anita Bate, General Manager at Edward Howell Galvanizers said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with this amazing football team for another season. The Club is just around the corner from our site and, as part of our continued commitment to supporting those across our local community, it was a natural decision.

“We’ve proudly supported them before this current agreement as we’re passionate about encouraging more girls into football and in championing those volunteers who work tirelessly to give young people an opportunity to play competitive sport. The daughter of our Transport Coordinator plays for the team, and we’ve seen first-hand just how important sponsorship of kit and equipment can be for cash-strapped grassroots clubs.”

The plant supported Sporting Khalsa FC last season with the sponsorship of its training tops, and the previous year with a set of coats.

Kelly Williams, Chairwoman at Sporting Khalsa, said: “We’re so grateful to Edward Howell Galvanizers for supporting our U9s team for another season. We’re a completely self-funded Club and are reliant on the generosity of others to enable us to continue coaching young people across the local area. Having a brand new home kit provided to us means that every individual in the team looks the same, and also gives them confidence and a real sense of belonging.

“We’re really excited about this season, with our overall aim to continue providing footballing opportunities for all and to develop our players and coaches, to do the very best we can in our League, and to enhance our connections with our local communities so that we can further grow as a Club.”

The U9s team trains at Grace Academy in Darlaston, with the Club currently consisting of six girls’ teams and three women’s sides.
