An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy team at Acrow Galvanizing Ltd based in Haverhill, Suffolk. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
As an HGV Class 2 Driver you will help to deliver our Company’s mission being the ‘UK’s Galvanizer of choice’ through being an integral part of a fleet that delivers our high-quality products to our customers.
Main responsibilities include:
• Putting safety first – Ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements and driving legislation, including company procedures, tachograph monitoring, driver, and road regulations.
• Collecting and delivering steelwork.
• Maintaining good working relationships with customers.
• Complete accurate delivery records and relevant paperwork.
• Responsible for carrying out vehicle inspections.

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable HGV Driver who’s eager to take the next step in their career.
This role offers excellent progression opportunities to Driver Team Leader for the right candidate who will support the transport team by encouraging best practices, assisting the Transport Coordinator when required, and drives continuous improvement and innovation.
You should have strong IT skills and a keen interest in developing your skills and progressing within the role.
A clean, full Class C licence, along with a digital tachograph card and a Driver CPC, are essential.
A Class C+E licence would be advantageous.
Previous experience transporting steel is desirable but not essential.

Hours?
Drivers working hours will be flexible to meet the needs of the business and will work up to a maximum of 60 hours per week but average no more than 48 hours per week in a 17-week period as per the Working Time Regulations. Start and finish times will be dictated by the needs of the business.
