An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager to join our busy team at B.E. Wedge Ltd in Willenhall, West Midlands. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
As a Sales Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the site’s commercial strategy, driving sales and expanding our customer base. You will excel at building exemplary customer relationships and be confident in exceeding monthly targets.
This role involves extensive customer interaction, requiring you to be on the road four days a week meeting customers and driving commercial success. Overnight trips are necessary as part of your duties. One day a week will be office-based to support any administrative duties.
Main responsibilities include:
• Develop an annual site sales plan outlining key tactics and strategies for growth.
• Annual budget planning to ensure profitability.
• Develop and nurture relationships with new and potential clients.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure long-term partnership.
• Schedule and conduct client visits in line with the customer contact plan.
• Maintain and update the commercial database, including pricing structures.
• Ensure effective generation and distribution of promotional materials.
• Prepare job costing, quotations and contracts.
• Represent the company at open days, exhibitions and trade shows to build brand awareness.
• Perform regular market and competitor research/analysis to stay ahead in the industry.
• Carry out post-contract reviews to analyse project performance and lessons learned.
• Promote additional sales, revenue opportunities and group services.
• Keep site personnel informed about ongoing commercial activities and customer engagement.
Who would suit this role?
• Experience previously working in a sales role.
• You must be target driven, motivated and have a strategic mindset.
• You should possess excellent negotiation skills, a strong commercial acumen, and the ability to foster long-term customer relationships.
• Additionally, you must possess a full, valid driving licence as travel is a key component in this role.
• The ability to understand technical drawings (3rd angle projections) would be advantageous but not essential.

• A permanent 40-hour contract, with gross pay of £38,000 – £42,000 per annum.
