An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Yard Controller to join our busy team at Scottish Galvanizers based in Glasgow. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 15 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused Yard Controller to join our team. This is a hands-on, frontline operational role that plays a vital part in the smooth day-to-day running of the yard and delivering an excellent customer experience.
As the first point of contact for customers arriving on site, you will be responsible for:
- Greeting customers.
- Managing access through the yard gate.
- Assisting with customer requirements.
- Coordinating incoming deliveries.
- Supporting day-to-day activities in the yard, including operating a forklift truck and general yard operations.
Who would suit this role?
You must enjoy working outdoors, be passionate about maintaining a safe working environment and understand the importance of making every customer feel welcome.
You must have excellent customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and professional manner.
You will have a hands-on approach and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the yard operations.
A valid forklift (FLT) licence is essential.

Hours?
Working 40 hours – Monday to Friday between 08:00 – 16:00
