An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Yard Supervisor to join our busy team at Wessex Galvanizers Ltd based in Eastleigh, PO50 6NZ. We are part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, a successful family-owned business offering secure employment to its employees for over 150 years. We have 14 sites nationwide and apply corrosion protection to all the steel you regularly see around you such as street furniture, lampposts, bridge beams and even football stadiums through our galvanizing process.

What’s the role?
As a Yard Supervisor you will help to deliver our Company’s mission being the ‘UK’s Galvanizer of choice’ through being an integral part of a team that delivers high-quality products and service to all our customers.
Your main responsibilities include:
• Oversee the day-to-day activities in the yard (e.g., loading, unloading and despatch)
• Maintain an organised and efficient layout of the yard for smooth operations
• Lead and supervise Yard Operatives, ensuring clear communication, task allocation and performance management
• Lead by example in enforcing “Safety First” and ensuring all health and safety procedures are consistently followed
• Identify inefficiencies and lead yard improvement activity
• Ensure high levels of quality control
• Provide cross-functional support for transport and production planning as needed
• Safely operate forklifts
Who would suit this role?
This role would suit a proactive and hands-on individual with strong leadership skills and a keen eye for organisational safety.
You will have experience in yard or logistic operations, with the ability to manage teams effectively and drive continuous improvement.
You must have strong communication skills and the ability to adapt.
Holding a valid forklift licence and being computer literate are essential.

Hours?
Working Monday to Friday between 08:00 – 17:30 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
