Galvanizers Mark 20-Year Partnership with Landmark Padel Court Development
Hull-based Humber Galvanizing Ltd has completed steelwork protection on a new padel court in Hessle – the latest project in a partnership with McCoy Engineering that stretches back more than 20 years.

The work was completed for TC60 gym, based at Bridgehead Business Park, which saw six tonnes of structural steelwork designed, fabricated, and installed by McCoy Engineering, a steel fabrication specialist based in Wincolmlee, Hull.
The steelwork formed a full access and perimeter package for the new padel courts at the premium fitness facility, based at one of the region’s most prominent commercial developments.
The scope of work included a galvanized steel ramp, staircase and landing, decorative stainless steel handrail cable system, powder-coated handrail posts with stainless steel top rails, powder-coated gates and mesh panels, and galvanized perimeter cloaking plates around the courts.
The hot-dip galvanizing across the structural elements was completed to BS EN ISO 1461 standards, providing long-term corrosion protection suited to a high-use, all-weather sporting environment.
Padel is one of the fastest-growing racquet sports in the UK, with demand for purpose-built court infrastructure rising fast across the country. The TC60 facility at Bridgehead is designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor use for decades to come.
The Bridgehead project is also the latest chapter in a supply relationship that began over 20 years ago. McCoy Engineering has specified Humber Galvanizing as its preferred galvanizing partner across a wide range of structural and architectural steelwork projects.

Tony Linsley, Sales Manager at Humber Galvanizing, said: “We’re proud to have supported McCoy Engineering on projects across the Humber region for more than two decades. This latest project at Bridgehead is a great example of the kind of work we do together – technically demanding, specified to a high standard, and delivered on time. Seeing a new sporting facility take shape, knowing that the steelwork we’ve galvanized will protect it for generations, is really rewarding.”
Hot-dip galvanizing was specified for the project due to its proven performance in outdoor environments, offering a minimum design life of 50 years with zero ongoing maintenance – a critical consideration for a facility expected to serve a large and growing membership base at one of the region’s busiest business parks.
Dave McCoy added: “We’ve worked with Humber Galvanizing for over 20 years because the standard is consistently high – the finish is right, the turnaround is reliable, and they understand what we need. On a project like this, where the steelwork is largely on show, that quality really counts.”
